Zenergi’s Technical Division, Briar, undertook a two-day audit to help Wellington School identify areas of energy and carbon savings.
This secondary school, with 1,400 pupils, was originally built in the 1930s and was already looking at energy saving but needed some extra guidance on the areas where cost effective energy, operating and carbon savings can be achieved. The aim was to identify opportunities for reducing carbon emissions through a strategic plan of works while delivering immediate cost savings.
The Energy Audit identified the opportunity for Wellington School to make a £5,000+, annual reduction in its energy costs, representing a carbon reduction of 15.3 tCO2e and return on investment within a year. The detailed report from Briar, gave the school better visibility of its usage and helped them to identify and prioritise its energy saving opportunities.
