Our working environment

Zenergi’s mantra is positive energy and we like to make sure this transfers to the workspace, creating a happy and comfortable atmosphere in each of our offices.

We provide spaces to relax and socialise during breaks, helping to develop relationships with colleagues.

The wellbeing of our staff is of the utmost importance, which is why, in 2021, we provided a Freedom Day; a half-day to celebrate England reaching the final of the European Football Championships; and an extra week’s holiday over the Christmas period in recognition of the immense hard work from the entire team during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our positive environment supports our ability to retain employees too. This year we celebrated three 10-year service; two 15-year service; one 20-year service; and one 25-year service.

 

Regular social events

As well as creating a happy working environment, we also arrange a number of social events throughout the year to help grow the bond within teams and across the business.

Strat Day is an annual event that brings the whole team together in January to celebrate the year’s successes and set the objectives for the year ahead, followed by a ‘black tie’ awards gala dinner and party.

 

 

 

Career Development

We are really proud of our Investors in People Silver Accreditation, particularly as only 15% of the organisations that are assessed by IIP achieve silver.

Our overall IIP survey results show that Zenergi outperformed the average benchmark for all IIP accredited organisations, meaning our people are more positive than many others within the IIP community, which is hugely encouraging.

Our Zen Academy plays a major role in personal and professional development and includes seven programmes aimed at developing the skills and practices needed to be successful.

We strongly believe in supporting each of our Zenergi family to become the best they can during their Zenergi journey. We are committed to providing a positive environment where people can grow and develop both professionally and personally.

Recently one of the team members left Zenergi to pursue a new challenge and below is an extract from their resignation letter, highlighting why our staff retention is so high:

“I wish to put on record that my time at zenergi has been very enjoyable, I have learnt new skills and have had the honour of working with the best team led by the most competent, brilliant, and empathetic manager I have ever had.

From my interview, all the way to the present day, every single member of the zenergi family that I have had the immense pleasure to work with, has always been supportive and fun to work alongside.

I want to also say that I have never regretted my decision to join zenergi, as unlike working for suppliers, I was not just a number but part of a family. This was evident throughout lockdown, where the CQS team supported each other every day during our regular teams meetings, which I strongly believe helped all of us get through a very tough time and for that I want to say a massive Thank You.”

Environmental and Social Governance

Sustainability and the environment are at the forefront of our operations, which is why Zenergi has signed ‘The Climate Pledge’, committing to Net Zero by 2040.

The Climate Pledge, co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019, is a commitment to net zero carbon by 2040. It forms a cross-sector community of companies and organisations, working together to tackle the climate crisis and solve the challenges of decarbonising our economy.

We are constantly working on new initiatives to help reduce our carbon footprint and play our part in avoiding a climate disaster. To help raise awareness among young people, we have developed Climate Crisis, a browser-based game, aimed at school children. The aim is to help the future generation understand what really makes a difference to the environment we live in.

Graduates and Young People

Zenergi’s new recruitment programme was launched to support the career development of young people. Our Graduate Programme recruited five graduates to work in different departments as part of a rotation scheme, with the offer of permanent positions at the end of the programme. The Apprentice position offered a Level 3 and Level 4 qualification in Business Administration, with a permanent position upon successful completion. We also offered ‘Kickstart’ positions to support 16–24-year-olds in gaining employment.

We have offices in Southampton; Colchester; Gloucester; Chorley; Brierley Hill; and Bradford-Upon-Avon.

We are preferred partner and supplier to many associations including ASCL, WASBM, LASBM, BASBM, CAPSA and have been in partnership with some for over a decade. We regularly attend their conferences and give members the Positive Zenergi experience based on their needs.
