For over a decade, Zenergi has helped Shropshire Council meet energy compliance requirements while uncovering opportunities to reduce energy waste. A thermography inspection at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery identified major heat loss areas, including the front door, single glazed windows, and plant room valves. With this insight, the Council can now prioritise targeted energy-saving investments to support its goal of becoming carbon net-neutral by 2030.
Display Energy Certificates (DECs) must be renewed annually for buildings with a total useful floor area over 1,000m². For smaller buildings (between 250m² and 1,000m²), the DEC must be renewed every 10 years.
To obtain a Display Energy Certificate (DEC), you need to hire an accredited energy assessor who will evaluate your building’s energy usage and produce the certificate. The assessor will visit your building, gather energy usage data, and calculate your DEC rating before issuing the certificate.
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assesses the energy efficiency of a building based on its construction and services, providing a theoretical energy efficiency rating. A Display Energy Certificate (DEC), on the other hand, is based on the actual energy consumption of the building. EPCs are required when a building is sold or rented, while DECs are required for public buildings.
With extensive expertise in energy compliance, we’re your trusted partner in navigating regulatory requirements. Our tailored solutions ensure your building remains compliant, reduces energy consumption, and meets sustainability goals, all while avoiding costly fines.
