Victoria Point: Minimising energy use and providing electric vehicle charging points for luxury development

Victoria Point is a development of 216 luxury apartments located in the heart of Ashford, close to Ashford International Train Station. As a significant development in the local community, the developer, Elevate Property Group, recognised its responsibility to demonstrate that it is playing its part in committing to proactive carbon reduction initiatives that mitigate climate change.

Case study highlights

Full mechanical and electrical services, design, drawings, and specifications were developed.

The project included installation of a centralised heating system; LED lighting, EV charging points; new meter connections; and delivery of Energy Performance Certificates.

The project will deliver long-term energy efficiency benefits to the residents through the inherently low carbon technologies installed.

Overview

Zenergi designed and coordinated the full mechanical and electrical services which included the installation of a centralised heating system provided by a domestic district heating system serving all apartments; LED lighting throughout, Electric Vehicle charging and all new metered utility connections.

Solution

Zenergi’s 30+ years of expertise in delivering large-scale low carbon mechanical and electrical engineering projects enabled an experienced team to be put together to design and project manage the required work to the highest standards, while minimising energy consumption for this luxury flagship development.

Full mechanical and electrical services, design, drawings, and specifications were developed, and the team attended regular meetings with the client, as well as all delivery partners to ensure the project met quality expectations and remained on track for the delivery timescales.

Result

On completion of the project, Energy Performance Certificates were produced by Zenergi’s energy assessors team.

The project will deliver long-term energy efficiency benefits to the residents through the inherently low carbon technologies installed, while ensuring the development is future-proofed through the access to the electric vehicle charging points.

The Victoria Point, Ashford, project was a great success. Zenergi was appointed to the design team to provide Mechanical and Electrical building services designs for this new build project. Their industry and sector expertise was evident from the start, allowing them to quickly familiarise themselves with the project goals and effectively produce the designs. We will be pleased to work with Zenergi on further projects.
