2018 Climate Change Levy (CCL) rate increases

HMRC have confirmed the new rates, which will be effective From April 2018. These represent around a X% increase for both Gas and Electricity.

The Climate Change Levy (CCL) is a tax on energy delivered to non-domestic users in the UK. Its aim is to provide an incentive to increase energy efficiency and to reduce carbon emissions.

HMRC have confirmed the new CCL rates, which will be effective from 1st April 2018.

Current Electricity rate – 0.568 p/kwh
Current Gas rate – 0.198 p/kwh

New Electricity rate – 0.583 p/kwh
New Gas rate – 0.203 p/kwh

Don’t forget if your status means you pay VAT at the reduced level, then your invoice should be CCL exempt and therefore not affected by these updated charges.
