Powering Progress: Our Social Value Report 23/24

At Zenergi, our commitment to making a meaningful difference comes to life through our social value strategy, Powering a Sustainable Future. This framework underscores our dedication to improving the planet and supporting our customers, people and communities in creating a greener, more equitable world. By focusing on sustainability, ethical practices, and community engagement, we aim to build trust and inspire collective action toward a sustainable future.

Planet

Furthering on our energy audits carried out at our offices in the year before, all offices have switched to renewable energy and have EV charging capability.

Our 2023 Greenhouse Gas Report includes a detailed breakdown of our emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3. We have achieved 56% emission reductions across scope 1, 15% emission reductions across scope 2 market-based, 29% emission reductions across scope 3 capital goods, 13% emission reduction across fuel- and energy-related activities and 17% reduction across employee commuting. Together, these categories alone equate to a reduction of 70 tCO₂e. Despite these improvements, Zenergi’s emissions have increased 15% against the previous year. This is due to increases in spend on goods and services. One of our key focuses to curb emissions growth moving forward is improved supplier engagement.

People

Internally, we reinforced our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, achieving measurable improvements in workplace representation and wellbeing through targeted programmes. We continue to support the development of the next generation of green leaders and climate change specialists by sharing our skills and resources in engagement programmes promoting energy efficiency and climate awareness in schools.

Community

Our focus on charity fundraising saw us raise over £40,000, split across several charities. Our initiatives focused on organised activities within our offices, while mobilising teams to take part in sponsored runs and even a sky dive!

Customers

We have continued our focus on initiatives that support schools and businesses in reducing their carbon footprints through tailored energy solutions and educational workshops. We remain committed to supporting our customers in their transition to green energy, with 31% of our customers’ energy supply points now sourced from renewable energy.

Our social value strategy reflects our commitment to a greener, fairer world—supporting our customers, communities and the planet.
