Climate Change Agreements

Reduce your exposure in a volatile market.

Climate Change Agreements (CCAs) are voluntary agreements between organisations defined as Energy Intensive Industries (EIIs) and the government, aimed at reducing energy use and CO₂ emissions.

Eligible organisations can receive a reduction of up to 92% on Climate Change Levy (CCL) in return for committing to pre-determined energy efficiency targets. Manufacturers within the mineralogical and metallurgical sectors may be eligible for up to 100% relief.

We help organisations successfully navigate the complex legislation to achieve a compliant and successful outcome, freeing you up to work on other business priorities, while providing confidence that you are compliant.

  • CCAs have eligibility criteria and set ambitious targets for successful applicants for improving energy efficiency.

  • It is essential to have a strategy in place for accomplishing targets before making an application.

  • Financial penalties can be levied for non-compliance, including late reporting, incorrect information or failure to update change of circumstances.

  • Penalties can be up to 10% of the value of the CCA discount received. There is usually a timeframe of 28 days to rectify any issues.

Non-half-hourly meter exchanges

New regulation is coming into force which means that every organisation’s electricity will need to be settled on a half-hourly basis. By October 2026 all electricity meters will need to be half-hourly. Don’t get left behind. If your meter is one of the circa 30 million affected by the regulation, it will need to be upgraded.
