TM44 Air Conditioning Inspections

Ensure compliance and optimise efficiency.

A TM44 Air Conditioning Inspection is a legal requirement for any building owner or manager controlling air conditioning systems, with an effective rated output of 12kW or more.

Our TM44 service includes a full inspection of your existing air conditioning system by an accredited assessor, who will review the efficiency of your system, check for faults and provide advice on how to make it more cost effective to run. Following the inspection, a full report will be provided, detailing findings and next stage recommendations.

Not only will our inspection service ensure your organisation avoids legal penalties, it also provides valuable data to help you manage your energy usage with confidence and accelerate your contribution to net zero.

  • Air conditioning systems with an effective rated output of 12kW+ are legally required to ensure compliance every five years.

  • A TM44 inspection is required for both commercial and residential properties, and includes systems consisting of individual units less than 12kW but whose combined effective rated output exceeds 12kW.

  • Trading Standards will fine £500 for each building if the report is not provided to them within seven days of request.

  • Our service will review the efficiency of your system, check for faults and offer advice to optimise efficiency.

Our value-added service

We provide added value and return on your investment with an additional detailed advanced report that includes:

  • Energy data usage and refrigerant quantities for each system on site.
  • Projection of the energy and operating cost of each system and for the whole site.
  • Energy costs and savings of implementing the recommendations.
  • Identification of inefficient systems for investment / upgrade.
Reduce operating & maintenance costs

A TM44 inspection examines the refrigeration, air and water movement equipment that are part of the air conditioning system and associated controls.

The report will make recommendations for improving efficiency, reducing electricity consumption and carbon emissions, and decreasing operating and maintenance costs.

Did you know?

The refrigerant used in air conditioning systems is thousands of times more damaging than carbon dioxide. Chemicals called Hydrofluocarbons (HFCs) are used in air conditioning for cooling but have a Global Warming Potential (GWP) thousands of times greater than CO₂ if they leak. A TM44 inspection therefore plays a key role in protecting the planet.
