Meet our new Senior Bid Manager – Introducing Jodie Sawyer

What attracted you to Zenergi?

As the UK transitions to a net zero economy, organisations like Zenergi who are enabling and driving that change are a big part of the future. Zenergi has a growing opportunity to help customers meet their energy and carbon-saving objectives and I’m excited to be part of that movement.

Your role is new to Zenergi, why is this an important addition?

Zenergi’s growth over recent years has created an organisation that is positioned well to succeed in the net zero economy. The role is critical to pull together the huge amounts of experience we have in helping customers achieve their energy, cost and carbon reduction objectives to demonstrate how we can help others with their journey also.

What skills do you bring to Zenergi?

In today’s competitive market, it’s important to be able to synthesise an organisation’s capabilities succinctly and match them to bids where we can truly bring value to a client.

I bring more than eight years of experience of writing winning bids, and more than twenty years of architectural and construction administrative experience before that, equipping me with exceptional organisation, analytical, and strategic skills. I am a natural writer and enjoy writing in my spare time too, with a published novel on Amazon to my name! I have worked for building design engineers for many years, and I understand Zenergi Group’s capabilities and what we can bring to prospective clients.

As an ambassador for Women in Construction and in a role focusing on breaking down mental health stigmas, I am really proud to be involved in transforming an industry where stoicism often prevails into a more empathetic place.

"I want to keep building on Zenergi’s impressive inclusion and diversity culture and to keep on creating opportunities for women and other under-represented groups."

Tell us more about your role as an Ambassador for Women in Construction

I am delighted to have been selected as an Ambassador for Women in Construction, joining an impressive list of female professionals who are bringing lasting change and furthering equality in the industry.

My journey to becoming a qualified mental health first aider and workplace advocate within the construction field is very important in my role as an ambassador. I am passionate about fostering open dialogues, providing guidance, and creating a safe space for discussions.

On joining Zenergi I was really encouraged to see that the organisation is well on its way to instilling positive mental health within the workplace, with lots of channels and materials available to support all members of the team in having open conversations about mental health.

As a woman in construction, I want to keep building on Zenergi’s impressive inclusion and diversity culture and to keep on creating opportunities for women and other under represented groups.

What are you looking forward to most in your role?

I am looking forward to working with our teams to create a really strong library of compelling content that positions us well to win bids that support organisations in accelerating their net zero goals in helping them become a net zero organisation.
