The current cost of living is at an all-time high. According to the Office for National Statistics (March 2022), 9 out of 10 adults have reported seeing an increase in their cost of living, 43% said they are experiencing difficulty paying their utility bills and a further 30% are struggling to cover their mortgage or rent as a result of inflation.

At Zenergi, we believe in supporting our team and their families which is why we are an accredited Real Living Wage Employer. We are voluntarily going above and beyond the government minimum and taking a stand to ensure all our eligible team take home a wage which is enough to live on.

The Real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week. Zenergi is one of over 9,000 organisations that choose to pay the real Living Wage because a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. 

By ensuring a fair wage for our team, we hope to reduce any financial pressure they may be experiencing. However, we also consider financial support may not always be enough. This is why we also supply our team with easily accessible, free, mental health resources to discuss any pressures that hinder mental wellbeing. This provision includes internal wellness buddies that are trained by MIND and the Red Cross Foundation; managers that are also trained by specialised organisations; free counselling sessions; and a 24-hour helpline that offers immediate access to telephone counselling and legal information services.
