Zenergi contributed to a fundraiser for a defibrillator to be installed in the local community of Widbrook and Bradford on Avon. The contribution meant that the fundraising target was met and the defibrillator is now ready for members of the public to use in the case of a life-threatening emergency on Bradford on Avon Marina.
The fundraiser was organised by Hollie Strickland from Widbrook Equestrian Centre and comprised of a funday, supported by an online donation form. Hollie said, “The funday was brilliant and a great day for the community, Zenergi’s generosity contributed to the overall pot which enabled us to purchase the defibrillator!”
Steve Barrington from Zenergi’s Bradford on Avon office based on the marina, said: “A couple of our team undertook a first aid course earlier this year, and when we saw this appeal we felt it was a great cause and are so pleased to have been able to support it.”
According to the British Heart Foundation, less than 1 in 10 people in the UK survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. To help someone who is in cardiac arrest survive, a defibrillator needs to be found as quickly as possible. For every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone and deliver a shock, their chances of survival lower.
The defibrillator on the Marina will help to ensure the safety of the local community.
