The Broad Horizons Education Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust educating 7,500 children and young people in Norfolk.
Zenergi had been looking after one of the Trust’s sites for three years, providing procurement and bill validation services.
In 2020, Broad Horizons Education Trust sought an alternative to the Public Sector Buying Organisation from which it had been procuring energy for other schools within the Trust. Following the achievement of competitive gas and electricity contracts that offered more flexibility and choice, Broad Horizons Education Trust moved its ten remaining schools to Zenergi.

Zenergi helped the Trust to reclaim the significant overpayment by providing the relevant VAT Declaration forms and advising on the process to raise the query with the supplier and manage the claim.
Zenergi During the process of setting up the new contracts and onboarding Broad Horizons Education Trust, Zenergi identified that during the time the energy contracts has been managed by the Public Sector Buying Organisation, the Trust had been incorrectly charged for Climate Change Levy (CCL) across its sites – and had been for a number of years.

The Trust is now benefiting from Zenergi’s full service across all its sites, including invoice validation; access to a customer portal for visibility of energy usage and support with budgeting; and full support with any energy-related queries managed through to resolution with suppliers.
Broad Horizons Education Trust is also able to take advantage of Zenergi’s extended energy services. This includes the organisation of a new connection for a brand new build for one of the Trust’s sites, and the undertaking of Display Energy Certificates (DECs) and Recommendation Reports ensuring that the Trust is compliant with regulations.
