We’re helping Shropshire Council to achieve compliance through Display Energy Certificates and progressively reduce it’s environmental footprint. Zenergi is also enabling targeted energy reduction in key buildings.
Working with Shropshire Council for over a decade means we know their buildings inside out. It helps alleviate any worries they have, as we’re always a step ahead of compliance challenges and working together to deliver against their climate ambitions."

Shropshire Council has ambitious plans to reach net zero by 2030 – in line with the county’s ambition for the same year. In support of this vision, we’ve been working closely with the council for over 10 years. We make sure they remain compliant with mandatory energy regulation, undertaking annual surveys and reports for the council’s 83 sites. The council also receives 10-year certificates whenever the need arises.
Providing an efficient, streamlined service for the delivery of Display Energy Certificates (DEC) makes a real difference. It means Shropshire Council’s public buildings remain in line with the latest regulations. It also means that we’re able to identify opportunities to improve the energy efficiency of buildings in the future – reducing costs and the carbon footprint of each site.
Our work doesn’t stop there.
Shropshire Council wanted to find specific opportunities to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery. Using thermographic inspection, we carried out a detailed analysis of the building. The infrared cameras involved can detect moisture and water damage, energy loss and insulation issues, electrical problems and overheating, structural defects and even pest infestations.
Our analysis highlighted where the key issue of heat loss was occurring: at the front door, the single glazed windows and the valves in the plant room. The council is now leveraging these detailed insights to prioritise maintenance and make targeted improvements to enhance the building’s energy efficiency.

In addition to the provision of our DECs, having the support of Zenergi for projects such as the identification of heat loss in our buildings is very valuable and is helping us in the achievement of our net zero ambitions."
