Kelsy began her career in Zenergi’s water team, where she initially joined as an administrator. It was here that she first began connecting her longstanding interest in science and the environment with her daily work. “I had always enjoyed science at school, and over time I became increasingly aware of how the environment around us is changing. That awareness quickly turned into a desire to take action,” Kelsy explains.
Her skills in data analysis and her growing environmental awareness helped her progress to the role of Senior Category Manager for Water. In this role, she supported customers in securing the best value for water services, while also monitoring usage and addressing excess consumption. It was during this time that Kelsy began to recognise the clear links between water and energy efficiency, and their combined impact on sustainability.
Determined to deepen her understanding and broaden her impact, Kelsy enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental Management and Technology with The Open University in 2018, all while continuing to work full-time.
Studying while working certainly had its challenges. But applying what I learned directly to my role helped me see how we can make a meaningful difference to the environment, especially by supporting customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. That’s what motivates me: knowing I’m contributing to the bigger picture.”

Now, Kelsy has made the leap from the water team into the Net Zero team. Her manager, Nick Drake, Zenergi’s Director of Net Zero, praised Kelsy’s commitment and growth:
Kelsy exemplifies what it means to live our values. Her determination to improve her knowledge, support our customers, and tackle environmental challenges head-on is inspiring. She’s making a tangible difference, and her journey reflects the kind of proactive leadership we need on the path to net zero.”
